1. It was somewhat a long process, but it didn't take much time. We started off photographing near the Greek with a tripod and our cameras. The tripod had to be adjusted so it took some time off our hands but worked out. Afterwards, we had to make sure the pictures we took looked almost exactly the same for the background. Both were different, one with a person and one with the background only. We made sure to not move the camera with any sort of movement to keep the background nice and still. After that whole process of photographing was finished, producing the composites on photoshop was the next step. Importing both the background photo and the person photo were easy. After the importing, using the paintbrush tool and layer masking was the next step. I carefully tried to erase the pieces I wanted to mask out in the photo and ended up with the decent results shown above.

2. Layer masks are masks that help remove parts of an image without having to erase the background. It especially is useful when it comes to using layers on an image. It is different from using the eraser tool. The eraser tool helps erase parts of an image but also erasing both layers while masking only helps mask out things in one specific layer. I will use them according to what they do in future projects.

3. I believe this project was successful. It was my first time learning how to use Adobe Photoshop and I believe I have successfully learned how to mask out layers in an image to create one whole image.

4. I believe I achieved a level 3 of mastery. The pictures were not spot on perfect and detailed but I still believe I achieved a level 3 in mastery. Some parts of the ruler stick on the second image are curvy which makes it obvious that it was masked and becomes a distraction when looking at the photo. The first photo also doesn't have that much of an interesting aspect to it when looking. Even so, I believe I have met the criteria needed to pass this project.
