Project 5 Anthony Jefferson Narag.png

How I created "What's in a name?"

1. I started off with a text layer and typed my own name. Once it was made, I proceeded to find at least 15 images of things that I like and my culture. I had to put each one in a certain position to fit the letters and began to "Clip mask" the pictures. Doing so had the pictures look as if they were inside the letters themselves. After clip masking the image, I proceeded to start making some of them pop out of the letters. I used the Object Selector tool and got to work but before I could use it, I had to create duplicated layers of the original photos  and put them above all the original layers. I proceeded to use the object selector tool to mask out each of the photos I wanted to pop out. I used a drop shadow effect on the text layer once I was satisfied with my photo and saved it as a png.

2. Clipping masks are different from layer masks. The differences are that clipping masks add pictures into a layer as if it was blended in, like text letters. They add themselves into these layers to make it seem as if it was apart of that layer while layer masks only take out a background or an object out of a photo. In the future, I could use these to blend in different photos and create many photoshopped images.

3. Overall, I see no failure in my project and I am proud about my image. Everything looks successful and nothing doesn't look unsuccessful at all.

4. I feel like my project exceeds mastery. I learned how to mask layers and use clipping masks to blend in different photos with the text layer I typed. The picture looks very well made with hardly any mistakes. The pop outs look very nice and they seem to be very well blended with the letters.
